I will add an update: 1/12/2017 On 12/26/17, I reported to the office that my hot water in my shower lasts no more than 3 minutes before turning cold and i was having issues with my lock....AND having issues with the water with my washer....it took multiple attempts before someone finally came out to my apartmrnt on the 4th of January. There was a lovely note left by maintenance advising that all issues were resolved. Nothing they could do about the water. Are you kidding me!???Also there was a nice hole on my wall by my lock. I took a picture. I reported this to the office on a Sunday and was assured these issues would be resolved. Well as of Friday, of course I didnt hear back so I called them. I was accused of coincidentally creating the hole by the lock that just so happen to be the day maintenance was there...that also hapoened to be by where the lock was. Seriously!!!? I happened to create this hole while at work which looks like it was created externally. I was also told that the heat for the water was turned up "legally as high as it can go." Um....well did you ever think that perhaps thats not the issue or are they in a hurry to close the ticket? That seems to be the pattern here. Put a bandaid on the issue or deny responsibility. Perhaos the hot water tank needs to be replaced??? If anyone is considering moving here, dont. The maintenance at Green Hill Apartments was so much better. Issues were resolved ethically and honestly within 48 hours. I moved because i wanted a gated community. However I have since learned that there has been home invasions here at gunpoint. Ive notived that the security guard lets anyone in (just leaves gate up). ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- After numerous visits to the office, multiple phone calls, various emails posted, it is now 1 month since Ive moved in and maybe 30 percent of my issues have been addressed (the minor ones). I am still in disbelief that I am dealing with this. They still have yet to address chipped paint that is everywhere, this huge hole that is filled with some crazy foam laced with lovely black specs of dirt, a broken patio door, and a leaky bathroom ceiling. What they do is keep submitting work orders and nothing gets done. I had to ask the assistant manager what are you doing differently if ive asked you 15 times in a month period that these issues are still not addressed? At what point do you escalate the issue? There is even a point where I came home to find two contractors painting the water stain in my bathroom. I asked them had the roof been repaired already knowing the answer. They told me they were told yes. This was a lie. Will someone please address my issues? Another reviewer mentioned called the news hall of shame, which sounds like a great idea. 9/4/2017 Update: 2 months after moving in, still have a ceiling leak. In fact, the ceiling looks worse.

My family and I just moved into Citation Farms in Farmington Hills, MI. We have only been here three weeks and it has been a nightmare. My husband paid a $500 reservation fee to have a first floor 2/2 apartment. The day before my family and I flew in from Florida to Michigan, they told us that there was a mix up and our apartment wasn’t available. The day before! So my husband scrambled on the phone with them trying to find an apartment for us and our two children. They found a 2/2 with a den on the second floor. This is where the problems really began. They accidentally gave us a bogus address and when my husband went to set up power, and rental insurance he realized that the address wasn’t right. So the power company and rental insurance company were going to bathe us to cancel the services and put them to a new address. Citation Farms didn’t even apologize. Now when we got to the office to ask for a key, the key they gave us wouldn’t work. So they had to cut us new keys. Once we moved in, we realized that the den and the master bedrooms windows wouldn’t close all the way and the rooms were unlivable. The temperatures were in the single digits. How is this acceptable???? I could understand if this was Florida, it would be no big deal. But the rooms were just as cold as outside. Also the master bathrooms vent fan didn’t work so condensation runs down the walls after a shower. The balcony door doesn’t lock either. With young children this is a huge safety issue. This was all reported at move in and it took them several days to come check it out. All they managed to do was slam the windows down so they close at the bottom. The rooms are still freezing, because the seal between the panes are old and cracked. So the wind still comes in. The managed to lock the balcony door, but now it won’t open. It has been two weeks since they first came to access the situation and they still haven’t come back. And to add insult to injury they sent my husband an email asking him to rate the service call? I am paying for a “Luxury Villa.” And it is so far very unsafe and unlivable. My husband has called several times and left messages. The people in the office either can’t do anything about it or they don’t care. I am going to the BBB. In addition to all the problems we reported, I discovered that the plastic shower pan is not sealed at the tile in the master bathroom. So mold is coming out of the area bit sealed. There has to be some legal obligation for Citation to provide a safe and warm place to live. STAY AWAY!!!!!
